Here are the targeted outcomes for each of the eight V.E.T. learning modules.

  • The modules are narrated and interactive.
  • The time required to complete each ranges from 30  to 50 minutes.
  • When completing all of the exercises and taking advantage of the audios and videos, learners could spend up to 2 hours of seat time on either module.

Module 1 – Introduction

After completing this module, you will be able to:2011710141

  • Explain the importance of the right mindset when
    conducting a job search.
  • Describe what behaviors and etiquette employers
    are looking for.
  • Recognize the four tipping points necessary to find
    the right job.

Module 2 – Think

After completing this module, you will be able to:

  • Describe how controlling thoughts creates emotions, which result in taking action to find a job.
  • Identify your most valued purposes for working.
  • Use middle ground reasoning skills to think non-negatively and assign favorable meanings to challenges.
  • Use the flip switching technique to self-regulate emotions.

Module 3 – Feel

After completing this module, you will be able to:

  • Recognize when your thoughts are not creating your right mindset.
  • Describe techniques to change your thinking to maintain your best emotions to fulfill your highest purposes for working.
  • Explain how to create and maintain your emotional resilience to persevere and perform well despite challenges.

Module 4 – Act

After completing this module, you will be able to:

  • Implement the final tipping point – cause others to like you and help you.
  • Describe how to maintain your right mindset despite frustrations.
  • List the five steps of the staffing process and the roles you are expected to play during each step.
  • Explain the employers’ 12 expectations and the 12 rules of etiquette you must demonstrate (what to do, how to do it, and when) to get the job.

Module 5 – Science about Mind

After completing this module, you will be able to:

  • Describe the science of how your mind functions separately from your brain, and why this is important to controlling thoughts.
  • Explain the value and necessity of intentional mind thinking to self-regulate how you feel and act.
  • Identify habitual types of brain thinking that cause emotional turmoil and self-sabotaging behaviors.

Module 6 – Mindfulness

After completing this module, you will be able to:

  • Define mindfulness and explain how it differs from concentration when attempting to regulate how you think and feel.
  • Describe four roadblocks to achieving and maintaining your mindfulness.
  • Explain how to use your four mindfulness skills to help you create ease when coping with challenges.

Module 7 – Practice Lab

After completing this module, you will be able to:

  • Identify the military qualities you wish to strengthen so to leverage your Vet Power to increase Vet Equity.
  • Practice using four categories of mindfulness excises to strengthen your mental fitness.
  • Explain the methods for creating and utilizing effective affirmations and visualizations.
